How to Disable Private Messaging
You can now control whether members of your Space can start private conversations with each other, or create private group chats.
A few use cases where this would be useful
- To get members comfortable posting publicly before you enable private messaging.
- To enforce that all group conversations happen publicly.
- To keep your space and members organized.
- To prevent the spread of negativity without you knowing.
How to update private messaging settings
By default, if your Space type is not set to "1:1", all members can create private and group conversations. To override these settings:
- Open your Space settings.
- Scroll down to Navigation.
- Toggle the options you'd like to enable/disable.
Note: Admins and Moderators can always create private and group conversations.
