Creating a Course in Swarm
How to Set up Community Learning
To get started setting up a course, go to Courses in the top left corner and then + New Course. You can then choose between Community learning and Classic course.

A Community Learning course means that students will be able to post homework, ask questions, and view the work of other students. This encourages community learning and peer review.
How to Set up a Community Learning Course
Select Community learning and give your course a name and description. You can then add it to the relevant section and add a cover image and thumbnail, then Create course.

You can add your course information, add or edit your course settings, add modules and add lessons to your community learning course.
Adding Content for Your Students to Engage With
In the example below, a demonstration video from Youtube has been added to a lesson. Add the link and select the green check button. This screen is from admin view and will look different in student view.

There are three options which can be toggled on or off:
- Accept responses – This allows students to respond to my video with their video or to write a post.
- Show responses to students – This allows students to view other student’s submissions.
- Show dates on posts – To display when the posts were created.
In student view, the student can now record a response to the original video with their own video or write a text reply.

Once students respond, these will then be displayed in a grid and visible to all students enrolled in the course. They can then use the chat feature to engage with each other.

If content was shared in a different area of your space, you can also import the content in admin view and Import posts.
See this article for more information about setting up your course.
