How to White Label Your Swarm Account

This page walks you through the steps to follow to enable white labelling on your account. White labelling your account allows you to:

  • Apply your own branding to your store and spaces
  • Use your own domain
  • Set up your own branded app
  • Customize emails sent to members
  • Add your own custom code

Please note White Labelling is only available on our Scale Plan and will include a white labelled version of your store and mobile app.

How to White Label Your Account

From within your Swarm account, click on your profile picture in the bottom left corner and select Settings. A settings window will pop up. Select the White Label tab. If you're not already on the Scale plan, you'll be able to upgrade your account and the white label features will be enabled.

Step 1

Enter a subdomain in the Custom Domain field.

We recommend using a subdomain instead of your main domain so you can still control your main site. E.g. login.mysite.com instead if mysite.com. However, if you do want to use your main domain, make sure it starts with www. E.g. www.mysite.com

Ideas for good subdomains to use (replace mysite.com with your domain):

  • community.mysite.com
  • app.mysite.com
  • login.mysite.com
  • join.mysite.com
  • membership.myste.com
  • go.mysite.com

Step 2

Add the following entry to your DNS to point your CNAME to app.swarm.to:

Example

Here are the settings shown for the custom domain, login.founderstory.com:

This is what these example settings look like when entered in a DNS provider, GoDaddy:

The main domain is founderstory.com, but the name value entered is β€œlogin”. This means login.founderstory.com will be the URL for the community.

Step 3

Click Validate to check that your subdomain is pointing correctly.

Step 4

Once validated successfully, you'll be able to make additional customizations:

  • Give your white label a name – this name is used in meta information on your white label site.
  • Provide a site description for SEO – describe your community so it can easily be found using brand searches

Step 5

Set your brand colors.

Select a Primary, Secondary, Accent and Navigation color. These colors will override the Swarm defaults when you access your white label site via the customer URL. You can select colors to be used when the site is viewed in dark mode and light mode.

  • Primary: This color is used for primary buttons and links.
  • Secondary: This color is used for secondary buttons.
  • Navigation: This background color is used in left and top navigation areas.
  • Accent: This background color is usually used in popups or to highlight an element on a page.
  • Select whether you would like the default theme to be set to light or dark mode.
  • Toggle whether you would like members to be able to switch between light or dark mode.
  • Upload a logo

Click Save Changes and visit your white label url to see your branded site.

You'll notice that the white label settings screen is not visible on your white label site. To make any changes, make sure you do this via https://app.swarm.to/. In addition, when using https://app.swarm.to/, you'll notice that all invite links are using your domain.
